Agility – 2×2 Weave Poles

Zora and I first leaned agility at Dog Scout Camp in July 2010. We have been taking classes on & off since then. She has conquered all the obstacles except the weave poles, with the teeter being the most difficult. The teeter took a couple of years and she finally got it last summer at Camp. She’s not a master and it will take more work and patience, but I’m really proud.

We recently started a new agility class at SNEAK. Zora loves it, the facility is great and the class is small. Our instructor inspired me to by my own set of 2×2 weave poles and actually train them properly. So that’s one of our current projects. We got them in the mail a month ago and we’ve been working on weaving with the 2×2 method. Right now, she’s up to 4 poles, spaced about 2 feet apart and angled about 30 degrees. Here’s a good video explaining the training concept.

Introducing Zora Puggle!

Introducing Zora Puggle!

Zora Puggle is currently 6 years old. We are members of Dog Scouts of America, a national non-profit 501(c)3 organization devoted to promoting positive pet parenting. We joined in June 2010 and attended to our first Dog Scout Camp in July 2010. We have been going to Dog Scout Camp for 3 summers so far and think it’s the Best Place on Earth!

Zora and I have been on a lot of adventures together. We have learned a lot of amazing things through Dog Scouts and met many wonderful people. I hope to share our new adventures with you.
